Political News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), April 8: Amid growing internal unease following the Waqf Bill vote, senior leaders of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) gathered at party chief Naveen Patnaik’s residence on Tuesday to discuss key matters concerning the party’s organisational structure.

Although the recent controversy surrounding the Waqf Bill and the so-called ‘Pandian episode’ has stirred speculation, no direct mention was made of these during the meeting.

Instead, party insiders revealed that the discussions remained focused on preparations for the upcoming organisational elections. Prominent BJD leaders including Prasanna Acharya, Ananga Udaya Singh Deo, Kalikesh Singh Deo, Pratap Deb, and Debi Prasad Mishra were present during the deliberations.

BJD leader Sanjay Das Burma, addressing the media, said, “All doubts and concerns will be addressed at the appropriate time. Under Naveen Patnaik’s leadership, BJD will continue to serve as a strong Opposition and live up to the expectations of the people of Odisha.”

Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and Debi Prasad Mishra echoed similar sentiments, confirming that the meeting’s agenda was centred solely on the upcoming internal elections. Arun Sahoo added that the party remains united and resilient under Patnaik’s leadership.
