Pratap Sarangi : Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 23: BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, who sustained head injuries during a scuffle between Opposition and NDA members at Parliament’s Makr Dwar last week, were discharged from Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Monday.
The two MPs, 69-year-old Sarangi from Odisha’s Balasore and Rajput from Uttar Pradesh, were admitted to the hospital on December 19 after the altercation. Initially placed under observation in the ICU, they were moved to a ward on Saturday as their conditions improved.
A senior doctor reported that both MPs are in better health. “They were discharged this morning. Their blood pressure is under control, and they are on SOS medication. We will continue to monitor their health,” said Dr. Ajay Shukla.
Sarangi has a history of heart problems and has a stent in place. Dr. Shukla noted that Sarangi was bleeding profusely upon arrival, having suffered a deep cut on his forehead that required stitches. Rajput also experienced a head injury and lost consciousness briefly, but he was coherent when admitted. MRI and CT scans showed no significant issues.
