Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 4: Ahead of the Navy Day celebrations, a shocking incident unfolded in Odisha’s Puri town on Wednesday morning when the blood-stained body of a man was discovered under the Shree Setu. The deceased has been identified as Sudarsan Sahu, a 43-year-old resident of Khandiabandha village, located within Puri Sadar limits.

Sources indicate that Sahu, who operated a tiffin stall in the Sadar market, was allegedly stoned to death after visiting the Shree Setu with an acquaintance. When he failed to return home the previous night, his family grew concerned and launched a frantic search, even closing his stall. Tragically, his body was found the following morning.

Local authorities, upon receiving the report, swiftly arrived at the scene and seized the body for a postmortem examination. The gruesome discovery has raised tensions in the area, especially as President Droupadi Murmu was scheduled to visit Puri for darshan at the Shree Jagannath Temple, passing through the Shree Setu. The incident has left the community in shock and prompted investigations to uncover the circumstances surrounding Sahu’s death.
