Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 24: Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj announced that guidelines have been revised to allow students who took admission in the first phase of UG counseling to participate in the second phase under the SAMS (Student Admission Management System). This decision was made to include those who were previously excluded.
Initially, students who had confirmed their choices were deemed ineligible for the second phase. However, due to feedback from students who applied through centers and were unaware of this rule, the department decided to make changes.
Minister Suraj explained that the original rule was intended to streamline the admission process, but it had caused issues for some students. The new guidelines now enable students who secured admission in the first phase to also participate in the second phase. The SAMS website has been reopened to accommodate these changes, which will be enforced strictly from the next academic year.
