sex racket: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 19: In a major crackdown, police busted a sex racket allegedly operating out of a spa and salon near Rabi Talkies Square in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Badagada police station raided the premises of “Diamond Salon and Spa” and unearthed the illegal operation.
During the raid, police detained a youth suspected to be involved in the racket and rescued two women. Authorities also recovered incriminating material from the site. Both rescued women were sent for medical examination.
The racket came to light after locals reported hearing the screams of a woman, who was allegedly being physically tortured. Residents claimed the woman was lured with the promise of a job but forced into prostitution and assaulted when she resisted.
Reports suggest that when her brother tried to intervene, he was also attacked. Police have initiated a thorough investigation to uncover the full extent of the racket and bring those responsible to justice.
