STA:Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 3: The State Transport Authority (STA) has issued a stern warning regarding the unauthorized collection of money from vehicle drivers under the guise of conducting road safety drives.

In a recent statement, Joint Transport Commissioner (Road Safety) Pradeep Kumar Mohanty emphasized that no individuals or organizations have been granted permission for such activities, urging vehicle owners and drivers not to trust or pay these impostors.

This warning comes in response to reports of individuals in Sundargarh district soliciting money from drivers while falsely claiming to conduct road safety initiatives. In light of these incidents, Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur has instructed the Sundargarh Regional Transport Officer (RTO) to treat the matter with utmost seriousness and to file a police complaint against those involved.

The STA has encouraged the public to report any such incidents to their respective RTOs. Sources suggest that the fraudsters may be part of an inter-state gang specifically targeting commercial vehicles.
