Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 4: (stabbing) A police constable was reportedly stabbed during a confrontation over excessive honking in the Sriram Nagar area of Chakeisiani, Odisha, on Thursday night.
The incident began when two young men on a motorcycle started honking loudly, disturbing four individuals sitting nearby. This action sparked a heated argument that escalated into a physical fight between the two groups.
Upon receiving information about the altercation, a PCR van promptly arrived at the scene to intervene. As the police attempted to apprehend the troublemakers, one youth allegedly stabbed a constable, who was trying to restore order. Reports suggest that the attacker was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
The injured constable was rushed to the Capital Hospital for urgent medical care. Meanwhile, the Mancheswar police have registered a case and are actively investigating the matter to bring the assailant to justice and ensure safety in the community.
