Bhubaneswar, (Reporters Pen): Sept 4: The Odisha government began accepting applications for the Subhadra Yojana, its flagship welfare scheme for women, on Wednesday. Application forms are now available at Anganwadi centres and Jana Seva Kendras across the state.
Applicants are required to submit their completed forms at the nearest Jana Seva Kendra, where officials will register the details using Aadhaar numbers, verify the information, and upload scanned forms to the newly-launched Subhadra portal. Applicants will receive a receipt for their submission.
With approximately 35,000 Jana Seva Kendras across Odisha, these centers are responsible for biometric authentication and e-KYC processes. Despite the surge in women visiting block offices to update their Aadhaar cards, authentication can also be completed via mobile numbers, biometrics (fingerprint/iris), and facial recognition.
Women have been seen gathering at Anganwadi centres to collect forms. The Subhadra Yojana, set to launch on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, September 17, is expected to benefit over 1 crore women in the state. The first installment of benefits will also be distributed from that date.
Deputy CM Pravati Parida stated that all information about the scheme will be available on the online portal, subhadra.odisha.gov.in. For offline applications, forms can be submitted at Mo Seba Kendras or Jana Seva Kendras with a photocopy of the Aadhaar card.
