Subhadra Yojana: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 7: The total number of applicants for Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana is expected to reach one crore on Monday. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida revealed that as of Sunday, the total applications were just 12,000 short of this milestone.

The ambitious Subhadra Yojana was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a special event in Bhubaneswar on his birthday, September 17. The second phase of payments for the first installment is set to be released on October 9.

The state government has announced that women beneficiaries who complete their application process by October 7 will receive their first installment of ₹5,000 on that date.

On Monday, eligible beneficiaries will receive an SMS confirming the credit of ₹1 in their registered bank accounts as part of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) testing process.

Deputy CM Parida noted that the first installment will be disbursed to 32 lakh beneficiaries in the second phase on October 9, as clearances have been obtained from the relevant agency. Additional clearances for applicants are expected, which may increase the total number of beneficiaries.
