Subhadra Yojana: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 13: Over 5 lakh women in Odisha have been deprived of benefits under the Subhadra Yojana, the state government’s flagship scheme, due to discrepancies in the linkage of mobile numbers, bank accounts, and Aadhaar cards, Deputy CM Pravati Parida revealed on Wednesday.
Parida stated that 2.67 lakh women were rejected, and their details have been sent to the respective blocks for verification and correction. She further explained that 5 lakh applications had errors in their bank account numbers, Aadhaar, or mobile numbers.
The Deputy CM urged beneficiaries to link their mobile numbers with only one bank account to avoid issues during the verification process. She assured that women who were not included in the third phase of disbursement on November 24 would receive the first installment of Rs 5,000 after verification. Anganwadi workers will conduct physical verification in each village.
Parida also noted that some women were mistakenly deprived of benefits despite not owning land, due to paddy being sold in their names at mandis. An inquiry into such cases will be conducted. The state government has already distributed Rs 5,000 each to about 60 lakh beneficiaries in two phases, and around 20 lakh more are expected to receive the first installment by the end of November.
