Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Sept 6: In a tragic incident on Friday, two laborers died and another fell critically ill due to asphyxiation while cleaning a sewage tank at an apartment in Trisulia, Cuttack, Odisha.
The deceased have been sent for autopsy, while the injured laborer was taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where he later passed away.
Reports indicate that the three laborers were engaged in cleaning a septic tank when they succumbed to suffocation. Local residents, hearing their cries for help, alerted the Baranga Fire Services department.
Despite the timely intervention, two of the laborers had already died by the time they were rescued. The third laborer was in critical condition when rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
The identities of the laborers are yet to be confirmed.
