Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen) Aug 8: Two friends were tragically stabbed to death following a heated altercation over parking at Kalyani Plaza near Hitech Apartment in Bhubaneswar late on Wednesday. The victims, Rashmi Ranjan Sethi and his friend Julu Sethi, operated a chicken counter at the plaza.

Reports indicate that the dispute began over parking between Rashmi and Ganesh, the maintenance in-charge of Kalyani Plaza. The argument had already escalated the previous night over Rashmi’s parking spot. On Wednesday night, the situation intensified when Rashmi slapped Ganesh after Ganesh used abusive language regarding his parked car.

Ganesh and his associates then chased Rashmi, attacking him with a knife and killing him on the spot. When Julu intervened, he was also attacked. Despite being rushed to Capital Hospital, Julu succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

Upon receiving the news, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh and the Airfield police promptly arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. To maintain order and prevent further unrest, a platoon of police has been deployed to the area.
