Weather News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), April 8: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday reported that the low-pressure system over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal has now intensified into a well-marked low-pressure area.
The system is expected to move north-northwestwards across the west-central Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours while maintaining its intensity. Subsequently, it is likely to recurve towards the north-northeast and gradually weaken over the central Bay of Bengal within the following 24 hours.
Due to the influence of this system, Odisha is likely to witness a drop in maximum temperature over the coming days, accompanied by increased thunderstorm activity and rainfall. The IMD has issued yellow warnings for several districts across the state, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
