weather news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 18: As night temperatures continue to drop across Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for shallow to moderate fog in several districts, including Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal, until the morning of November 21.
The weather pattern is contributing to chilly nights, with the temperature at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district plummeting to 7.2°C, down from 7.8°C the previous day.
Other regions where temperatures dropped below 15°C include Semiliguda in Koraput (9.1°C), Phulbani (10.5°C), Daringbadi (11.5°C), Angul (11.6°C), Rourkela (12.2°C), Jharsuguda (12.4°C), and several locations in Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16.8°C and 16°C, respectively, which is 2.2°C and 1.9°C below the normal range. In Angul and Jharsuguda, the temperatures were 5.9°C and 4°C below normal, respectively.
The IMD has predicted no significant change in the minimum temperature over the next 4-5 days. The ongoing cool weather is expected to persist across the state.
