weather news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), March 3: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that day temperatures will remain 2-3 degrees Celsius above normal in several districts of Odisha for the next three days. The affected districts include Puri, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Balangir, and Boudh.

According to the IMD’s midday bulletin, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius from March 3 to 5. However, the minimum temperature across the state is likely to drop by 2-3 degrees after three days. The weather agency has also forecasted that the temperature may touch 39 degrees Celsius in Titlagarh, Angul, and Jharsuguda by March 5, while Bhubaneswar is expected to record 37 degrees on March 4-5.

On Sunday, several places in Odisha already witnessed soaring temperatures. Balangir recorded the highest at 38.1°C, followed by Angul (37.9°C), Titlagarh (37.6°C), Jharsuguda and Bhadrak (37.5°C), and Jajpur (37.2°C). Bhawanipatna, Sonepur, and Baripada recorded 37°C, while Bhubaneswar registered 36.1°C. The IMD has advised precautions against heat-related ailments.
