weather news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Feb 24: After a brief spell of rain and cooler temperatures in the past few days, Odisha is set to witness a rise in mercury levels from March 1, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The state recently experienced light to moderate rainfall in several northern districts, bringing a 2-4°C drop in minimum temperature at some places. In interior regions, the temperature was recorded 3-4°C below normal, providing a much-needed relief from the early onset of summer-like conditions. However, the IMD has predicted dry weather for the next week, with no significant rainfall expected across the state.
The gradual rise in temperature is likely to begin from March 1, with daytime heat increasing steadily. The IMD has advised people to prepare for warmer conditions, especially in western and interior districts, which typically experience higher temperatures during this period.
The sudden fluctuation in weather is attributed to recent rainfall patterns and changing wind conditions. Authorities have urged residents to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions as daytime temperatures are expected to soar in the coming days.
