Weather News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 3: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a dip in night temperatures across Odisha by 2-4°C after December 6, following ongoing rainfall activity expected to last until the same date.
“There will be no significant change in minimum temperature during the next three days. However, it is likely to decrease by 2-4°C in the subsequent two days,” the IMD stated.
Rainfall predictions include light to moderate showers in Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri on December 3. On December 4, the same is likely in Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri, while December 5 and 6 will see rainfall in Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts. Dry weather is expected statewide after December 6.
The ongoing weather changes are attributed to a well-marked low-pressure area, the remnant of Cyclone Fengal, currently situated over coastal Karnataka and the east-central Arabian Sea. It is likely to move west-northwestward, maintain its intensity for the next 24 hours, and weaken gradually thereafter.
