Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 14: Following the arrest of SCB Medical College and Hospital resident doctor Dilbag Singh Thakkur, who is accused of raping two patients on the hospital campus, his wife has come forward claiming that her husband has been framed and suggesting a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing his career.
She revealed to reporters that her husband was scheduled to receive his degree next month and accused senior and junior staff, including the head of the cardiology department and the college dean, of being involved in the alleged conspiracy.
She questioned the delay in filing an FIR by the victims, noting that they initially left the hospital and only returned to file a complaint after her husband was brutally beaten and admitted to the ICU. Thakkur was reportedly attacked by the patients’ relatives, including some junior doctors and an MBBS student from the same medical college.
The accused doctor’s wife also mentioned that her husband, originally from Bhopal, was instructed by his seniors to perform an echocardiogram test. She raised concerns about why a 60-year-old woman would undergo a test after the alleged assault if one had occurred. Additionally, she alleged that police are preventing her from meeting her husband and stated that they have filed a counter FIR.
