Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 3: Heavy rainfall is expected to affect parts of Odisha over the next 24 hours, with a decrease in rain intensity forecasted for two days starting Sunday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The depression over north Jharkhand has intensified into a deep depression and is now centered over southwest Bihar and adjoining northwest Jharkhand. It is anticipated to continue moving west-northwest across northwest Jharkhand, southwest Bihar, southeast Uttar Pradesh, and east Madhya Pradesh over the next 48 hours.
In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar indicated that light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected across most parts of the state over the coming week.
The weather agency has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) at one or two locations in the districts of Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur over the next 24 hours.
Rainfall intensity is predicted to reduce for two days on Sunday and Monday, with heavy downpour expected to resume from August 6.
