Youth hacked to death in Khurda; three suspects arrested

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 27: Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of a youth in Khurda, Odisha, which occurred on August 25. The victim, identified as Sheik Sajid, was allegedly hacked to death by a group of miscreants who broke into his garage in the Mukundaprasad area. Sajid was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The arrested suspects are from Puri and Khurda. The motive behind the attack is believed to be related to past rivalries.

Following the murder, tensions erupted in Khurda town, leading to widespread unrest. Furious locals damaged 20 vehicles in the area.

Director General of Police YB Khurania and Director of Intelligence Soumendra Priyadarshi visited the scene to assess the situation. The DGP urged the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands and called for calm and peace in the community.
