Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 27: Days ahead of the final phase of elections, Union Minister Amit Shah has forecasted a victorious sweep for the BJP in all three states, projecting a breakthrough triumph in Odisha, where concurrent Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls are underway.

In an exclusive interview with news agency Press Trust of India, Shah expressed confidence, stating, “We will surely cross 400 seats and also form governments in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh.”

Shah predicted that the BJP would secure 75 seats out of the 147-member Odisha assembly and clinch 16-17 of the state’s 21 Lok Sabha seats. He attributed the party’s promising performance in opposition-ruled states to the accomplishments of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Union Home Minister anticipated the BJP’s victory in 24 to 30 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, with the alliance securing nearly 17 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh.

Citing public dissatisfaction with the Mamata Banerjee-led government over various issues, Shah highlighted concerns such as corruption, cow and coal smuggling, infiltration, and recent controversies like the Sandeshkhali incident. He remarked, “People are angry… and the Sandeshkhali issue has exposed as to what extent she can stoop in her appeasement politics.”

Shah also expressed optimism about the BJP’s electoral prospects in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, noting a promising trend in three seats in Kerala while refraining from offering specific seat projections. He stated, “We have a new team… our seats and vote share will increase and we will certainly lay a strong foundation in Tamil Nadu.”
