Bhubaneswar, (Reporerspen), June 20: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Cuttack on Thursday framed charges against Ollywood actor Anubhav Mohanty and two associates in a domestic violence case filed by his now divorced wife, actress Varsha Priyadarshini, at Purighat police station.
Anubhav appeared before the JMFC Court where charges under sections 506, 509, 498A, and 34 of the IPC were formally framed against him.
Earlier, the Orissa High Court had intervened on May 16 this year, staying a non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued by the JMFC Court against Anubhav.
The case stems from a complaint Varsha filed at Purighat police station in December 2022, accusing Anubhav and his associates of forcibly confining her in a room at their residence in Nandisahi. Following her complaint, police rescued Varsha, leading to the registration of a case against Anubhav Mohanty.
