Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), June 6: Amidst speculations surrounding leadership, all 20 newly-elected Lok Sabha members of the BJP are set to convene with the party’s top brass in New Delhi on Thursday evening.

While Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, elected from Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency, is already in the capital, the remaining members are en route for this crucial meeting. Discussions are anticipated to revolve around matters concerning government formation, with the party’s high command.

The newly-elected MPs are expected to articulate their perspectives on the formation of the state government, as the process of selecting the Chief Minister for Odisha has commenced. The central leadership of the BJP is keen on gathering the inputs of these newly-elected representatives on this pivotal matter.

Following discussions between central leaders and state party MPs, the BJP’s parliamentary board is slated to convene, placing emphasis on the selection of the Chief Ministerial candidate. Notably, all elected BJP MPs boast extensive political experience.

In the recently concluded elections, the BJP contested in Odisha under the leadership of Narendra Modi without projecting a Chief Ministerial candidate. During his election rallies, Modi indicated that the party would designate a ‘Bhoomiputra’ (son of the soil) as the CM candidate on June 6, with the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for June 10 in Bhubaneswar.
