Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi promotes yoga for health and wellness in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen)June 21: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led the commemoration of the 10th International Yoga Day in the state on Friday.

This marked the first extensive celebration since the BJP took office in Odisha, underscoring the significance of yoga as an ancient practice. The main event, hosted at Kalinga Stadium, saw Chief Minister Majhi participating in yoga exercises and addressing a large audience comprising students, officials, and community members.

Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj and Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena also joined the event.

Highlighting the statewide celebration, Chief Minister Majhi mentioned that deputy chief ministers, ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials were designated as chief guests across various locations in Odisha.

Emphasizing the health benefits of yoga, Majhi stressed its role in maintaining physical and mental well-being. Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Yoga for self and society,” he encouraged everyone to adopt yoga as a daily practice beyond this special day. Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo participated at Kasturba School field in Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, while another Deputy CM, Pravati Parida, attended the program at Konark.
