CM Mohan Charan Majhi offers condolences for Odia victims in Kuwait inferno

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen) June14: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed condolences on Friday for the tragic deaths of two Odias among the 45 Indians killed in a devastating fire in Kuwait.

The deceased have been identified as Santosh Kumar Gouda from Ranajhalli village, Ganjam district, and Mahammad Jahur from Karadapalli village, Cuttack district. They were residents of a seven-storey apartment building in Mangaf, Southern Kuwait, where the fire occurred early Wednesday morning.
In a message on Twitter, CM Majhi wrote, “Heartfelt condolences on the loss of two Odia youths – Mahammad Jahur and Santosh Gowda – in the tragic fire incident in Kuwait. I extend my deepest sympathies to their families and pray for the departed souls’ eternal peace.”

An Indian Air Force aircraft carrying the mortal remains of all 45 deceased Indians landed in Kochi at 10:30 am and is scheduled to reach Delhi at 4 pm. From Delhi, the bodies of the two Odia victims will be flown to Odisha later in the evening, as confirmed by official sources. According to the Indian Embassy, out of 176 Indian workers in the affected housing facility, 45 lost their lives and 33 are currently hospitalized.
