Naba Charan Majhi to take oath in Santali language in Parliament

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), June 22: Newly-elected Lok Sabha members, including 21 from Odisha, are preparing to take their oath in Parliament on June 24. While some of these Odisha MPs have already arrived in New Delhi, others are en route for the ceremony.

Ahead of his journey to the national capital, BJP leader Naba Charan Majhi, elected from Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha constituency, expressed his intention to take his oath in Santali language.

Emphasizing his commitment to the promotion and preservation of Santali language, a tribal leader Majhi mentioned plans to engage in discussions with both the Central and state governments on necessary measures.

He affirmed his dedication to advancing the cause of Santali and indicated his intent to speak with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on related initiatives.

It is noteworthy that Ramachandra Hansdah had previously taken his oath in Santali language in the Lok Sabha after being elected on a BJD ticket from Mayurbhanj in 2014.
