Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), June 25: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a work order for the construction of two additional foot over-bridges (FOBs) on NH-16 in Bhubaneswar, aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety. These bridges will be located at Palasuni and near Rajdhani College in Baramunda, identified as high-risk areas for accidents on the national highway.

Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi announced on her social media handle that these FOBs will be built at a cost of Rs 5 crore, addressing a longstanding demand from the public. “It was People’s Demand. I had been pursuing the matter,” she stated, expressing gratitude to NHAI and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Currently, two FOBs are already operational—one near Kalinga Stadium along NH-16 and another near Satsang Vihar.

Additionally, NHAI has proposed two more FOBs at Manguli on the Chandikhole-Jagatpur-Bhubaneswar section of NH-16, furthering efforts to improve pedestrian safety along this crucial highway stretch.
