Bhubaneswar, (Reprterspen), July 3: Former Odisha Minister Srikanta Sahu and his family members in Ganjam district are facing a police case for allegedly misbehaving with a woman, as per reports.
The case was registered at Kabisuryanagar Police Station following a complaint by Sanjukta Mahala against Srikanta, former Polasara MLA, and his family. The complaint alleges that she was subjected to misbehavior during a visit to the ex-Minister’s residence on February 14 this year.

Sanjukta accused Srikanta, his father, brother, sister-in-law, and other family members of physical assault and verbal abuse. She claims that despite initially lodging a complaint at Kabisuryanagar Police Station, she was arrested instead of the accused.

The police registered the case after receiving a fresh complaint from Sanjukta by post. Investigation is ongoing, with authorities promising appropriate action.

There has been no response yet from Srikanta or his family regarding the allegations. Previously, Sanjukta had filed two complaints at Mahila Police Station in Bhubaneswar, alleging betrayal, physical and mental harassment by Srikanta after a nine-year relationship. She also cited threats to her life and sought police protection.

Following these allegations, Srikanta was removed from the BJD Ministry, and Sanjukta had approached the Orissa High Court in August 2023, seeking a thorough investigation into her claims.
