Bhubaneswar, (Repoterspen), July 1: Five students who had gone missing in Saptasajya Hill were safely rescued following an extensive night-long search operation conducted by Forest Department officials and local police.

The boys—Arakshit Mohapatra, Subam Mohapatra, Himasu Das, Sujit Sahu, and Lucky Dash—lost their way during a trek on Sunday amidst heavy rainfall. They were discovered at an under-construction spiritual site, sources confirmed.

According to Forest Department reports, the students initially visited the Ram temple on the hill but strayed while en route to the Shiva temple, eventually ending up near a construction site in the Barasamania area. Unable to navigate out of the dense forest by late afternoon, they contacted their families via mobile phone, shared their location, and requested assistance. Families alerted local police in Cuttack, who then coordinated with counterparts in Dhenkanal to initiate a joint search operation with Forest officials.

The students were successfully rescued by 11:30 pm and underwent a medical check-up before being reunited with their parents. Sources indicated that four students are residents of Cuttack’s Link Road, while one hails from Kamadhenu village in Dhenkanal.
