Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), June 15: Odisha government schools are set to reopen on June 18, according to reports released on Saturday. Starting from that day, midday meals will resume for students. The newly established BJP government in the state has issued a directive to ensure this provision.

Under the directive, midday meals will be available for students from grades one to eight. Chief Minister Majhi’s administration has instructed the relevant departments to ensure that no student goes without a midday meal. Block Development Officers have received detailed guidelines on this matter.

Earlier, due to severe heat wave conditions across the state, the Odisha government had declared summer vacation for all schools from April 25. Additionally, morning classes were scheduled from April 22 to April 24, running from 6:30 am to 10:30 am.

Recently, on April 17, the Odisha government announced a brief closure of all schools in the state from April 18 to 20 due to anticipated heat wave conditions.
