Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 22: The bodies of a young couple, missing for the past 10 days, were discovered beneath a bridge in Atharanga village under Begunia police limits on Tuesday.
The deceased young man hailed from Botalama village under Atharanga panchayat, while the young woman was a resident of Lathipada village under Hirapur panchayat. Family members of both victims allege that miscreants killed them before dumping their bodies.
Locals spotted the bodies under the bridge on Wednesday evening and promptly notified the police, who swiftly arrived at the scene and arranged for post-mortem examinations. The parents of the deceased girl had filed a missing persons report with Begunia police a few days prior to the discovery of the bodies.
A forensic team has been mobilized to gather evidence in order to identify the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the killers, and an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the murders.
