Cuttack, (Reporterspen) May 10: Anubhav Mohanty, former Ollywood actor turned politician, did not appear in court today as required. The court had summoned Anubhav Mohanty along with his associates Sujit Dallei and Khagendra Prasad Sahu regarding allegations of mental and physical torture, threats, and other charges filed by Varsha Priyadarshini.
Sources indicate that Anubhav cited personal reasons for his absence and requested time to appear before the court through his lawyer. The court has granted an extension until Monday and instructed Anubhav Mohanty and his associates to appear on that day.
Earlier, the Cuttack JMFC Special Court rejected Anubhav Mohanty’s discharge petition, which claimed the absence of a basis for the case. The case originated from allegations filed at the Purighat police station in 2020 by Barsha.
The marital discord between Varsha Priyadarshini and Anubhav Mohanty has long been a topic of discussion. Earlier this year, in February, the celebrity couple was granted a divorce by the Family Court in Cuttack.
