Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 6: As a result of nor’wester-induced rain and strong winds battering Bhubaneswar, the chopper carrying Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, who was engaged in an extensive campaign in Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi district, and Khariar, Nuapada, was diverted to Jharsuguda on Monday.

Reports indicate that Chief Minister Patnaik and 5T chairman V K Pandian boarded the aircraft at Khariar. However, adverse weather conditions prevented the chopper from landing in Bhubaneswar around 3-3.30 pm, leading to a diversion to Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda. After a delay of about 20 minutes, the chopper took off from Jharsuguda, with Patnaik and Pandian safe onboard, en route back to Bhubaneswar.

It is noteworthy that election campaigning in Odisha is currently at its peak. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the public in Berhampur today and is scheduled for another public meeting later in Nabarangpur. During these gatherings, PM Modi urged the public to rally behind the party and contribute to its electoral success.
