Traffic advisory issued for PM Modi’s Bhubaneswar roadshow tomorrow

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 9: The Commissionerate of Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Bhubaneswar on May 10.
Starting from Master Canteen Square to Vani Vihar and vice versa, vehicular movement will be prohibited until the conclusion of the PM’s roadshow, scheduled to commence at 6 PM.

Specifically, Janpath Road, spanning from Master Canteen Square to Vani Vihar, will be inaccessible to vehicles from 2 PM onwards on May 10 until the end of the roadshow. Similarly, the ban will extend from Vani Vihar to Master Canteen Square starting from 4 PM on the same day.

Additionally, vehicles from adjacent lanes are barred from accessing Janpath Road from either side of Mastercanteen Square to Vani Vihar.

In tandem with the city police, the Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos have meticulously reviewed security arrangements for PM Modi’s roadshow. Measures include the erection of barricades along the designated route, declaring the area a no-fly zone, and comprehensive sanitization of the entire stretch.

To ensure utmost security, a substantial police force comprising 55 platoons, 5 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 10 Additional DCPs, 27 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 41 Inspectors, and 180 other officers will be deployed on both sides from Vani Vihar to Mastercanteen Square. Additionally, three units of the anti-terrorist special tactical unit (STU) will be on standby, alongside dog and bomb squads to cordon off the roadshow area.

Preparations by the state unit of the BJP for the PM’s mega roadshow in Bhubaneswar are underway. Following an overnight stay in the state capital, PM Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting in Balangir on May 11.
