Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 7: With dual polls looming less than a week away, the BJP gears up to launch an intensive campaign in Odisha, deploying top national leaders this week with the strategic aim of shaping the narrative for government formation in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to lead a road show from Master Canteen Square to Vani Vihar Square in Bhubaneswar starting at 6 pm on May 10. Aparajita Sarangi, incumbent MP of Bhubaneswar seeking re-election, has urged the city residents to join the event, broadcasting her call through an audio message.

In a press briefing, Golak Mohapatra, the vice president of the state unit, revealed that Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will embark on a two-day visit to Odisha starting May 8, where he will address public gatherings in Nabarangpur and Koraput. Similarly, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to participate in three public meetings in Malkangiri, Chitrakonda, and Khallikote on May 9.
Mohapatra emphasized that these visits by Chief Ministers from neighboring states will draw a sharp contrast between the governance models of BJP-led states and the ruling BJD in Odisha.

Furthermore, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is set to headline a massive public rally in Krushna Prasad of Puri district on May 9, focusing on the impediments faced by highway projects due to the alleged non-cooperation of the BJD government. This, he asserted, underscores the necessity for a BJP-led administration in Odisha.

Additionally, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address two public meetings in Rayagada and Bhawanipatna on May 8, as per Mohapatra.

Party sources have hinted at the potential participation of actress-turned-politician Hema Malini, included in the revamped list of star campaigners for Odisha, who may bolster the party’s campaign in Berhampur on May 9.
