Final phase of Lok Sabha elections in Odisha announced by Election Commission
Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 7: The Election Commission of India announces the final phase of Lok Sabha elections, encompassing 57 constituencies across seven states and one Union territory, with voting scheduled for June 1.
Among the states involved, Odisha will witness polls in six constituencies. The remaining seats are distributed as follows: 13 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Punjab, nine in West Bengal, eight in Bihar, four in Himachal Pradesh, three in Jharkhand, and one in the Union territory of Chandigarh.
Nomination filing deadline is May 14, and withdrawal deadline is May 17.
The Odisha constituencies slated for this phase are Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur. The state will conduct simultaneous Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections over four phases on May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.
