Puri, (Reporterspen), April 28: Four labourers were injured after the roof of an under-construction building at Puri Railway station collapsed on them Sunday. The incident took place when the labourers were working in roof construction work.
As per reports, the building, which was being constructed as part of the renovation of Puri railway station, collapsed when six workers were engaged in the construction of its roof.
Upon getting the information, fire service personnel arrived at the spot and launched a rescue operation. Machines were used to clear the debris to make sure that no one was left trapped under the debris and rescued at the earliest.
The victims were rushed to Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for medical aid and are currently out of danger.
A probe will be conducted to ascertain the exact reason behind the collapse and necessary actions will follow, said an Government Railway Police (GRP) official.
