Bhubaneswar, (Rrporterspen), April 26: Soro MLA Parshuram Dhada, who parted ways with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) three weeks ago, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at its headquarters in the Odisha capital on Friday.

Accompanied by his supporters, Dhada was warmly welcomed into the party by senior leaders, including state BJP president Manmohan Samal, former president Samir Mohanty, election co-in-charge Lata Usendi, and Balasore MP candidate Pratap Sarangi.

Expressing his gratitude, Parshuram stated, “I am pleased that senior party leaders have extended their hand in welcome after a decade. I am ready to undertake any responsibility entrusted to me.” His remarks came during the induction ceremony into the BJP.

Having previously served as a councillor thrice in Soro, Parshuram contested the Assembly seat within the Balasore parliamentary constituency on a BJP ticket in 2009, narrowly losing to Congress’ Surendra Prasad Pramanik by a margin of only 360 votes. Subsequently, he joined the BJD and secured victory in the seat twice, in 2014 and 2019. However, he was recently replaced by Madhav Dhada as the BJD candidate for the upcoming state elections, prompting his resignation from the party’s primary membership on April 3.
